Australia, your candy bars are $7, your sun goes down at 8pm, and your TV’s have 9 channels. And I love you. Words can’t express how grateful I am that my band has been invited to Australia 4 times in 4 years, and I’m confident that with shows as bonkers as last month’s were, we’ll keep coming back for as long as you’ll have us. Who knows, maybe one day you’ll even learn that a sporting event isn’t supposed to take 5 days, and that it can occur in just one exciting evening! I know I know, I’m moving pretty fast. For now, just take a look at some drawings I did while relaxing in your glorious country that also happens to be a continent. And thanks again for a great start to my/our 2010.

“Digs” means clothes right? I don’t even know anymore. If it does, then get this new piece of dig! I made it with Aaron at Sons Of Nero. Buy it HERE and show your love for the record label that has actually put out the best music ever. And that’s a mathematical fact. Seriously. It says so right here on my calculator.

Although I have mastered the art of extreme fidgeting, it is moments like these that I am jealous of people with patience. I literally just got home from Australia and as much as I would love to write an extended recap of the trip and all it’s highlights, I just can’t sit still! What I do feel is important to tell you all, is that this time around the ETID/HERO posters went quicker than ever! Which honestly just makes us all feel fuckin great. So don’t be a Desmond, pick up one of the very few hand numbered prints that we saved strictly for the world wide web RIGHT HERE, and if you weren’t, now you can pretend that you were at one of these rippin’ shows!

Australia knows how get shit done. It’s 8PM here and the sun is still out. Whatever their secret is, America needs to steal it! As our way of saying ‘thanks’, we brought what has become a staple in the ETID tour package: some hand numbered, screen printed gig posters drawn by myself and designed by HERO. These might be my favorite of all the prints we have made so far, but it’s what the Bogans think that really matter! Is that an insult? I don’t know either! Come snag one at any of the these shows!

Need a socially acceptable magazine to hide your dirty ones in? This month try using ALTERNATIVE PRESS, where you will also find out that NEW JUNK AESTHETIC was voted to have the #2 album cover of 2009, and well as contain the #3 B-Side; “Buffalo 666″. Still browsing? Then pick up this month’s ROCK SOUND that dedicates 2 pages to an interview/feature they did with me about art and shit! It’s got a bunch of Brits ‘avin a goof on the cover, you can’t miss it. And speaking of New Junk appreciation, click HERE to see how another super cool website also believed it to have one of the greatest album covers of the year. Bonus!

Below is my previously mentioned contribution to the “Under The Influence: He-Man” art show that I previously mentioned even more below-er than the previously mentioned painting. Friday, January 8th, 7PM – 10pm, Gallery1988, 7020 Melrose, LA, CA. The exhibit runs through the 29th. I got to see a lot of the show today and my eyes damn near started to leak from the perfect storm of childhood memories and the actual invite itself, to take part in such a super sweet event. Be there or be Stinkor!

Hey now! Hope everyone is having wonderful stuff. I was just in Europe with my best friends and while I was there I drew a lot. Because they sleep till 4pm. I’m feeling impatient (shocking) so I uploaded the drawings before giving them a proper clean up. That will come soon. These drawings aren’t exactly for anything in particular. Maybe I’ll put them on shirts someday or something. Not too sure. Maybe they are just here to look at. Or maybe they were just created in order for me to keep my sanity in parts of the world that get 2 hours of sunlight a day. Either way, I love my band, I love all the great people I got to meet, and I appreciate you checking these doodles out. Sorry for all my posi vibes. I just saw Avatar last night and want to plug my ponytail into a tree! Australia… you’re next!!!

That little imp in the He-Man shirt right there is me. And I ended up ruining that chalkboard because I drew Skeletor on it in marker. I thought that everything you drew on a chalkboard could get erased! What a stupid asshole I was! Point being, He-Man was the first thing i ever remember drawing, which is part of the reason why I was so excited to be asked to be apart of Gallery 1988’s “Under The Influence” art show tribute to Master’s Of The Universe. Before I left for Europe I completed a 22 x 30 watercolor painting for the show (not the one on the flyer), that will be hung on the wall in the near vicinity of some of my favorite artists of all time. I’ll put up a picture soon, but I recommend coming to see everything for yourself on January 8th, running until January 29th at 7020 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, CA. Check out the flyer below, and/or peep some more info HERE!
