I survived my first tattoo convention, and I did it by drawing on shoes. I really can’t thank Kurt Soto and VANS enough for inviting me over and letting me go to town on some canvas foot ware. We weren’t trying to sell anything, we just wanted to inspire people to get creative, get the word out about the $10,000 prize for whatever high school cranks out the coolest custom shoe, and move people to DIY their life!!! And you know what? We fuckin did it! And while all that was happening, I managed to get my wig blown off by a live CRAYOLA painting sesh, watched some rippin punk bands, and ate about 16 pounds of kettle corn.
