Check out Every Time I Die’s new video for “After One Quarter Of A Revolution”, shot by Doug Spangenberg at the White Rabbit in San Antonio, TX on our fall ‘09 tour. Hopefully every show on our next tour looks like this, but remember, if you are planning on showing off your stage dive skills (1) get on and get off. In the words of Keith Buckley “no one came here to watch you run around on stage Kanye”. (2) No pushing the band. Can you believe I actually have to tell people this? It’s true. Find your crease. If you have to toss us out of the way, then you obviously didn’t cease the right moment. And (3), stay off the pedal boards. The reason you are stage diving is because of the music, and we can’t exactly PLAY our music if an amateur stage diver hits the “mute”. Follow these rules, and you are guaranteed to have something to brag about after the show. Thanks, and see you on the road!

ETID VS. HERO #5

You are looking at installment #5 in the ETID vs. HERO gig poster collection. And what a fuggin beaut she is! As usual, a rather low amount will be screen printed, hand numbered, and brought out only to sell on tour. It’s a little incentive to all the super sweet kids that come and get sweaty with the band out on the road. I’m even tickled to say that there are quite a few of you across the world that have the whole collection, and are hungry to continue collecting. I may have said it before, but I seriously hope to be doing these posters for the rest of my touring life. I appreciate and acknowledge the passion that so many of you have for art and music, and I encourage you to share it with us as soon as possible. And pick up a poster while you’re at it!

MUSIK WRAP UP (hello, hello)

I survived my first tattoo convention, and I did it by drawing on shoes. I really can’t thank Kurt Soto and VANS enough for inviting me over and letting me go to town on some canvas foot ware. We weren’t trying to sell anything, we just wanted to inspire people to get creative, get the word out about the $10,000 prize for whatever high school cranks out the coolest custom shoe, and move people to DIY their life!!! And you know what? We fuckin did it! And while all that was happening, I managed to get my wig blown off by a live CRAYOLA painting sesh, watched some rippin punk bands, and ate about 16 pounds of kettle corn. My contributions can be seen below. Thanks again to everyone that hung out, see you all on tour!

Last year I went full throttle and drew on any pair of VANS slip ons that didn’t already have a pair of feet in them. And after a much needed break (spent drawing on even weirder things, like paper) I will happily be whipping some shoe art again this weekend at the VANS booth, found at the MUSINK festival in beautiful Orange County California. Australia, your candy bars are $7, your sun goes down at 8pm, and your TV’s have 9 channels. And I love you. Words can’t express how grateful I am that my band has been invited to Australia 4 times in 4 years, and I’m confident that with shows as bonkers as last month’s were, we’ll keep coming back for as long as you’ll have us. Who knows, maybe one day you’ll even learn that a sporting event isn’t supposed to take 5 days, and that it can occur in just one exciting evening! I know I know, I’m moving pretty fast. For now, just take a look at some drawings I did while relaxing in your glorious country that also happens to be a continent. And thanks again for a great start to my/our 2010.

Although I have mastered the art of extreme fidgeting, it is moments like these that I am jealous of people with patience. I literally just got home from Australia and as much as I would love to write an extended recap of the trip and all it’s highlights, I just can’t sit still! What I do feel is important to tell you all, is that this time around the ETID/HERO posters went quicker than ever! Which honestly just makes us all feel fuckin great. So don’t be a Desmond, pick up one of the very few hand numbered prints that we saved strictly for the world wide web RIGHT HERE, and if you weren’t, now you can pretend that you were at one of these rippin’ shows!

Australia knows how get shit done. It’s 8PM here and the sun is still out. Whatever their secret is, America needs to steal it! As our way of saying ‘thanks’, we brought what has become a staple in the ETID tour package: some hand numbered, screen printed gig posters drawn by myself and designed by HERO. These might be my favorite of all the prints we have made so far, but it’s what the Bogans think that really matter! Is that an insult? I don’t know either! Come snag one at any of the these shows!
